Assignment #3: Media History and Development of Technologies

Media has a long history - communication and technologies have developed and evolved over time. This assignment is for you to look up a few kinds of communication and technologies, explore their background and their impact to the society.

Choice of topics are below. In class, you will sign up your choice of topic on the board so this way no other student will repeat the topic. We will be presenting our topic to each other hopefully on Tuesday.

EXPECTATIONS:

You are expected to write in your post titled "Media History:  _(choice of topic)_"

1) The FIVE w's (What is it? Who invented it? Where was it invented? When did this happen? Why or how did this work?)

2) Identify inventions that guided to this invention and/or identify inventions developed after this invention

3) How did this invention help with the communication aspect?

4) Is there creativity in this invention that makes communication convenient? What kind of elements can be supported from this invention?

5) Post a few pictures of this invention

6) List sources where you found the information
